In July 2025, GKI conducted a survey among domestic companies regarding the use and prevalence of artificial intelligence, with a total of 390 companies responding. In which sectors is AI used the most, where is its use planned to be expanded, and which companies already have internal regulations for its use? Below, we present the results of our survey related to these questions.
32% of companies use software or applications based on artificial intelligence (AI). In the service sector, more than half of the companies (53%) use AI, while in the commercial sector, 42% use it. In the construction (19%) and industrial sectors (29%), this proportion is more modest, but by no means negligible, considering that integrating AI in these sectors is inherently more challenging due to the nature of their activities.

A key issue regarding AI is regulation and controlled use, which we rarely see examples of: among companies that use software based on artificial intelligence, only 17% have some form of internal regulation. The lack of regulation is explained by the relative novelty of the technology; operational models and routines related to AI use have not yet been sufficiently developed within companies. Although the overall proportion of companies with internal regulations is low, examining it by sector shows that the higher the share of companies using AI in a given industry, the higher the proportion of companies with internal regulations.
Among companies that already use AI applications, 88% plan to further expand their use. Companies in the service sector—currently the largest users of AI—are the most likely to plan an increase in workplace use of the technology: 97% of them anticipate further development. In the commercial sector, 74% of companies plan to expand AI use, which falls considerably short of the service sector. In the industrial and construction sectors—although AI use is currently less widespread—a significant proportion of companies already using the technology also plan further expansion. A higher share of industrial companies plans to increase technology use than in the commercial sector, where AI is already much more widespread.

The high proportion of companies planning further AI expansion clearly indicates that most companies envision future work processes involving frequent use of AI. The low level of internal regulation highlights uncertainty and a lack of knowledge, showing that companies still do not have the necessary expertise to identify risks and establish procedures for responsible use.
While AI has not yet been fully integrated into work processes in the construction and industrial sectors, its prevalence is already high, though still in the early stages, in the service and commercial sectors. The effective workplace use of artificial intelligence could become an important new segment of market competition in the future. Although internal regulations may limit the full exploitation of AI’s potential, they provide a guarantee for managing internal risks and ensuring consistent, high-quality work.
